I have attached two .bin files and a definition file.
One is my standard map, the other is a tuned map on a friends car.

1. I'm not sure if I'm using the right definition file. Can anyone confirm?
2. Assuming the definition file is correct, I can't see many changes. What have they done to make it better?
3. After I've made sure the checksums etc are good on my friends file, can I just flash it to my ECU? From my reading, I shouldn;t have any troubles with immobiliser etc.

Thanks a lot  Cool

Your Octavia file is 06A906032HN. The definition file you're trying to use is for an S4 file, 8D0907551M. They are not compatible. You need a definition file for YOUR file.

Thanks for the heads up. Any tips on how I can find the right file? I've tried searching vRS, Octavia, auq, etc etc but can't seem to find it.

Does 8D0907551M sound like 06A906032HN?

Hi, I downloaded that map pack, but I can't seem to do anything with it in TunerPro. It does import into Winols though. Can this be made to work tunerpro? It looks a lot easier to use. I've done some more reading but haven't found a way yet.

On another note, can tunerpro be used without a definition file?

Open your definition in winols.
Open tunerpro. And copy the map adresses, offsets etc etc from winols and create your own xdf in tunerpro.
If they don't match then open ols file in winols and your original binary. Compare files and find the maps you need in your Ori then copy addresses to tunerpro

Don't suppose you've got a link, or can remember the thread title so I can do a search?

Couldn't have said it better. The more you learn, the more you realize you don't know.

Haha, I know exactly what you mean. I'm sure the more I read, the more confused I get lol

I want to find the CDKAT bit to remove the rear o2 sensor. I also wanted to check the boost settings. We've got uneven boost readings across the rev range, not sure if it's due to the map or a hardware issue yet.

And, if I can work it myself with more reading, I want to add antilag/launch on the spare space of the memory.
