If the PID controller is sufficiently calibrated (for a stock turbo it mostly is), use KFLDIMX to get rid of boost spikes.
I've found that that map helps a lot to get rid of most of the boost spikes, on spoolup or transient load in general.

Search on nefmoto, it has been discussed before and explained what to do.

Thanks, I've just been reviewing my tune files.

v7 didn't overshoot at all but V12 does, I'll have to go back and try v7 again, but I wonder if it's adaptations somehow?

I actually lowered the boost profile from v7 to allow for for max output my car would give, based on the logs.  The only other changes are some kfzw, KFMDBGRG, and NLLMG changes, the rest is the same.

WTF?

dmx tuning may also require some dmx adaptation tuning as well, especially if you have a turbo that behaves very differently from stock... the rpm ranges in particular..

dmx adaptation?

Stock turbo just 45% more boost!

Don't forget that KFLDIMX map needs to be correctly set for other boost values than max boost as well.
Adaption values will be much better if that map is set correctly in most of it's areas.

Yeah I spent a lot of time using it to get desired inline with actual already, never thought reducing boost would put it out of wack though, only like 3-5% change in a few columns...
