I just got my galletto cable in the mail and the cd it came with is broken. I am about to set up my bench flash station ( power supply etc....). And I cant find any DIY or how to's on using the galletto cable to go into boot mode for my ECU that had a mess up flash.

If anyone can link me or let me know asap I would appreciate it. Thanks guys!!!!!

thks guys, finally got it working. but im at my breaking point. I got into boot mode. Read my ECU in the galletto program.

- open file ( BIN )

-download file ......starts writing , get to 100% and then the rest is in like a different language. So i just hit , OK ......OK......OK. then I shut off the power supply

and thats it. Still wont work in my car.

Nefmoto still cant read , keeps disconnecting as if the flash is still bad.

I have no idea what to do now. someone please give me guidance.

TIA

the last command is probably the one which asks you to turn off the ignition for ten second then turn it back on to finalise the write.

If you go to www.talktomycar.co.uk

scroll down to the bottom on the left you should see software click this you should be able to select a full english version of the galletto software either EOBD 1250 or 1260 which ever you have.

thanks for the link. appreciate it.

But I even flashed in boot mode to my original BIN and I still cnt get the fuckin car to start. I must be doing something wrong.

When it says shut off ignition for 10 seconds then turn back on , does that mean , turn the power supply off then on?

Cause im doing it on my table with a power supply / bench setup.

1. Have you tried reading the file back out of the ecu and comparing it to the original .(you will probably have to read in bootmode to do this).
2. Is the original file known to be good and check sums correct.
3. can you access the ecu with vcds and check/clear errors.
4. do you have access to another ecu for your car you may need to compare eeprom data to check for corruption causing the immo to block communication.

He has a B5S4, so immo can be ruled out.

When Gelletto wants you to turn off the ignition is that not technically different then removing all power from the ECU? On my ME7.1.1 ECU's turning off the "ignition" during bench flashing removes power from some pin(s) but still leaves it connected to at least one.

It is also possible you have some eeprom corruption.

that makes sense. If thats the case then I defin am doing it wrong. Hey tony, do you have any input on this? Regarding disconnect certain pins instead of just shutting off the whole unit?

When flashing in boot mode, you should be fine disconnecting power. You shouldn't need to turn the ignition off. When I used to do boot mode with MiniMon before Galletto existed, I always just turned the power off.

What happened to the ECU to get it into this bad state? Was the entire flash chip erased at once, or was it erasing and programming a sector at a time? It is possible there is some data stored in the serial EEPROM telling the ECU that the flash memory is bad, and not to boot.

I would verify that the file you are programming back on is a known working good file.
