i had this problem the other day and i did a wot pull and the epc light flashed really quick .......car felt like it lost power , i got home scanned for codes (vcds) ...nothing ,nada ......ive breezed through a couple threads but why am i not getting codes ? why did this light flash? tia

car is 01 a6 tip 2.7 stock

EPC is for the electronic throttle. You should check to see that it moves freely and is clean.

Misfires. Log with VCDS

it wouldnt store codes? i though a flashing cel would be misfires .......ive never gotten a misfire code, ill do a pull and log misfires with vcds though and see what i get

No. There is a threshold of misfires that has to be met before a DTC is set.

so i tried to log misfires with vcds and most of the time it said " disabled" so couldnt confirm misfires ......why? it was wierd sometimes itd say enabled but not while i was stepping on it...... Huh  Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh
