I have a 2002 jetta. Ive been in a battle with the immo since december. Started with vcds light and a kkl cable then found out still needed pin code. im on my second vag tacho cable  5 rfid chips two clusters and second ecu. I had it all worked out with the new cluster. i took and saved its eprom reintalled original cluster then wrote it with the new clusters eprom. worked like a charm. car ran and everything worked. while programing the third key somthing went wrong and i lost everything.
where i stand now is this.
i can install the new cluster ( its 2001 immo 2 ) and match up a key no problem but i cant it to jive with either ecu.
i can install the original cluster and everything works but cant get a key matched up to disable the immo.
i cant get vcds to recognize the vag tacho cable OR will vcds recognize my kkl cable anymore so even though i have pin codes now i cant do anything with it in vcds nefmoto or anything else that i can figure out.
also my wife installed the battery backwards and now my radio is DEAD. im less worried about that though. I just need this nightmare to be over and to run!!!!!!!!

PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP!!!!!

This is the first thing you need to fix. Probably a driver issue, is the light on the lead still coming on when you  Iirc vagtacho uses special drivers, maybe these are being used for the kkl lead too and stopping it working. Is the light on the lead coming on when you turn the igntion on and plug it in?

Check the fuses on top of the battery in case any have blown. Was this after your issues with the key matching/cluster? You could immo off as a stopgap?

the light ha never come on on the unit. it works just fine with vag tacho so was unconcerned about it. the backwards battery issue which resulted in my radio not powering on again was in the middle of trying to get cluster/immo/ecu/key talking with each other.
ive pulled and checked with volt meter every fuse i can find. unsure how to test most of the relays as the majority of my car experiance deals with old school chevys.
immo off matched key toggle witch and screw driver i dont care what the method is as long as the car starts. have tried to immo off route but can not get cable into dumb mode to acomplish it.

Can you read the ecu EEPROM in obd mode with argdub's tool using the kkl lead?
