that comment was supposed to be joking btw
Sorry man, I'm still bitter over a lot of what happened
I'm still getting over it... and seeing this forum flourish has definitely boosted my spirits.
Yea its pretty weak its always been so hush hush, i never really shared info just due to the fact it was money in my pocket, as a college student at the time, struggling single father, etc..... I needed the money. Which I think most of you can understand.
Now i make enough money to survive, yet not enough really, but you know, im willing to share an amount of information. More or less to break up the tuning scene a little if i can and get some people on the track to tune their own car's.
I wish it were more like GM tuners or european(country) tuners where i could take my car to a local tuning specialist with my "xyz companies tune" and have them tweak it a little if need be, or something along those lines. We dont really have this option in america, which is a shame. We are breaking those boundries every so slowely though
I dont have a website, i dont advertise, i just go word of mouth locally, and help people out for an extremely fair price(my time or trade for services) and thats that.
I just tuned a car for a local passat owner, who heard of me through a BMW friend of mine. I basically gave him a total walkthrough and crash course on how i tuned his car, showed him maps, showed him WHY i change maps. We ran into some slight jerkiness in the tune in a few spots, showed him why and how i fixed it. The guy was really excited about that, and he is an GM head, and has tuned his camaro himself. So he was really into it, and understood it to a point. Which is nice, and made me feel good i guess.
Hope this MED9 gets some guys going, I think releasing this now is a positive step, as these MK5 guys are kinda at the point where i was with ME7 way back when with my mk4. So break out early, rather than wait 10 years for the information to become public, they only had to wait 5
