The rules are to post the original stock binary before asking for map locations. Why are you ignoring the rules?

Look in 3d view. Timing maps are one of the easiest to find. They are very distinctive.

Sorry i do not have stock bin. I about to attempt tuning my friends 3.0l for just experience reasons. What can i compare the timing map to? A 4.2l bin or just any bin?

Not sure if there is one Audi 3.0L uses 7.1 but the Naturally aspirated 3.0 AVK engine I know of uses ME 7.1.1.

Here is one file you can try:

version 004 is the latest I believe.

What? Placebo!

Timing maps start at 12EB2.

Have you ever tuned a 4.2l v8 N/A. There is no Placebo effect going on when you tune that. Whats weird is its only top end. Kind of feels like vtec haha.

Back to learning things. So i look at timing maps in 3d pretty easy to find the mountains highlighted, but how do you spot them so easy looking at an undefined bin like the 3.0l? There's no bin out there to compare to?

There is no need to modify IRL/IOP if you're not changing volumetric efficiency. Look at KFPED....

As for identifying the maps, experience. If you know what they look like, you can spot them easily.

So your contention is that modifying torque request (and load request) will give you more horsepower? Interesting.

No that is not my goal. Goal is to advance timing till knock is retarded just to see how much of a difference it makes. I was messing with the torque map to see if gain occurred which torque makes horse power anyways so yes i did see gain. Horse power is just work done in 1 minute

Unless you are seeing torque intervention, changing IOP/IRL does not give you more torque.
