Here is my dilemma... My car was Stolen...
I have a 2001 A6 2.7t which I switched the ECU to the one from an S4 (Wanted to code out SAI and EGT, post CO2). as the definition files are readily available for that box. Is there a file out there that has the benefits of extra HP as in S4 but keeps the IMMO? bought a new cluster from a 2003 so I went through all the hoops to have the immo light off (coded the immo chip inside the A6 ECU to match the cluster data, IMMO light goes off after initial check, but car starts if I pull the ID cylinder from key... :S (immo light flashes and goes on).
2nd thing I noticed that the Traction Control and ABS lights come on after WOT, anyone have ideas what the issue could be? (got a MAF sensor code - replaced MAF, problem persisted) no other codes posted on Vag-Com I think it has something to do with the engine load data not being passed onto the ABS/TC computers...

You likely have a boost leak, or failed to raise the threshold for maf diagnosis if tuned. As for a file, use any of them you want. None are as well defined as the S4, but comparing the two should make it simpler

One of the euro s4 maps should do the trick, as they should have immo, but they are not as well defined as the Mbox.

Yeah that's the issue I ran into :S I just could edit my A6 ECU and code out those items but I tried and failed... anyone have a base Euro file for the 2.7t I could play with? or a stage 1 tune that has the egt, post cat and sai coded out? :S

On the s4 wiki there is a list of the different ecu codes, in the original ecu file section on here there is a sticky by nye with a link to many different 2.7t original files.
Does your a6 have the sai/lambda2/egt deleted? I thought they should be present on a 2001?
And what's the story with the stolen a6? I take it you recovered it?

Yeah it does have it but I coded it out in the S4 file... They broke door and started the car with a screwdriver, recovered 4 days later 5 blocks away... Still at insurance company.. Need to fix up the IMMO, although will be installing a GPS tracker with fuel cut... and a baseball bat in the trunk of other car

Hmm, anyone know which ECU number a Euro S4 would be? 01 A6 2.7t Auto is where it will be used

Flash a S4 551L and see if it works. You won't have IMMO but it's a start.

Can 551D be coded as auto?

Ah so confusing.. so my Original ecu is 4B0 907 551 Q, switched it to 4B0 907 551 L box with modified BIN, but I take it it's a US S4... Looked at the tables, but cant see an equivalent ECU that matches my Engine code (APB). what file can I use? 01 A6 Auto 2.7t APB Is there a BIN that equals my 551 L but with added immo?

excellent... now how comparable is that file? (the definition with address locations to the L box..) wondering if the tutorial I used previously for L box will work on this, don't have my car to pull my bin from the ECU (Insurance company still has it, can't find my backed up file :S ) Sorry to be such a pain you guys! Hopefully I can return the favor someday once I get smart with all of this.. LOL One more question... Do I need to get the T ecu in this case or can I load the BIN onto the A6 (551 Q) ecu... because from what I have learned, correct me if im wrong but does the L Box have an IMMO IC? I downloaded the EEPROM from my ECU to code a dash I got from a 2003... (was a successful swap, IMMO light is off) 4B0907551T how comparable is that to the Q box I currently have? PITA to figure out the Q box, have up on that as the DEF files weren't very good. Wanted the extra horses offered in stock S4 vs the A6 plus I figured out the S4 Lbox in coding stuff out, but lost the IMMO :S so im after pretty much what the S4 stock has plus an IMMO back..

I havent looked, but in general the locations are not comparable between different ECUs (L/M-box being the obvious exception). This means that an XDF for L/M will not be valid with T - you will need to find the maps yourself, but this wont be super hard, especially if you only need 4 maps or so. Take a look at the threads talking about how to find maps, or generate XDFs.
You should be able to load the T bin straight onto the Q ecu and have working immo - remember that once you have an active immo, you will need your ecu paired to your cluster, and your keys paired to your cluster or the car wont start, plus if the keys have previously been paired to a different cluster, you will need new transponder chips for the key ($10 for two on ebay).
This sounds complicated, but its totally possible, I've done something similar on a 1.8t.
DD/Nyet - is there a tool to generate a definition for an ecu, given a defined ecu? The beyond compare/hex editor stuff should be automateable fairly easy.
DD - is there a tool to take a known map/definition pair and produce a definition for a similar map? It would be quite nice to have a S4 ecu with immo as well defined as the m-box.
