Hi

I'm new owner of a 2000 S4 cactus green  Grin

the car are 100% stock. 103 000 miles on it.

I search for a good oem stock revision file.

I'm curious if the stock A-box file from europe (265hp) can be flashed over my A-box US ecu.....

I think the two bin are 1024kb...

Any hardware difference between US and Euro  ?

Euro file has immobilizer. Read the understanding/retrofitting immobilizer sticky.

I would take a backup of your 95040, write an immo off 95040.

However, the question is why you would want an A box, unless it was for the immo? Mbox is better defined and drives much better in stock form.

DD has been kind enough to publish a M-box scaled for a bosch maf on the stage1 2.7t thread, and as your car doesnt have the ESP ABS controller you can just disable the fault codes in the ECU. But that is a bit of work if you are new to this...

Ok, after reading a lot, I think I will run stock M-box to begin. but later I will try to make my own stage1.

I have downloaded the DD M-box file for Bosch maf, and the XDF

what i'm planning to do is:

1-Disable Secondary Air Injection Diagnosis and save the.bin
2-Correct the checksum with ME7Sum and use me7check to confirm twice.
3-Flash in bootmode the file.
4-recoding the cluster to 1025. do I need to do this ?

-there is the only thing I need to disable and im ready to run the stock Mbox ? I will go read about ESP dtc removal... I'm not sure where starting

Yeah that looks good. You may also need to disable Evap pump/leak detection, etc, if you do not have that stuff fitted to your car.
