I have to reinstall the drivers for the cable every time I try boot mode when hitting the allroad.

Sanity check:
you do short the pins to go into boot mode right?

I was successful going into boot mode with 3 separate a6/allroad ECUs, 1 original allroad, 2 A6. The trick with them is that while getting galletto to enter ECU into boot mode is usually successful, on my setup anyway, finishing read or write is a totally different affair.

The like to fail a lot.

If you ever fail after the initialization mode, do not attempt another boot mode imemdiately. Disconnect the ECU and wait AT LEST 1 minute.

I just soldered two wires to the pads there and routed outside of the box, this way I can short exposed conductors at will without screwing around PCB itself each time. Two short leads would work too.

Do you see activity on your galletto cable LED when you try entering boot mode?

Do the simple vagcom connection on the bench. If vagcom dont connect to the ecu, then you mess with on-bench wiring.
