2002 Audi A4 1.8T

« on: May 23, 2012, 12:58:51 PM »

I have a ecu 8e0906018, nd the original for my car is 8e0909518. From what I can see both are used for the 2002 a4 b6 1.8t fwd man.

When I put the 906018 in the car  with software from the ori ecu, it wont start because of the immo.
So I was wondering, is it possible to make the immo recognise the key for the for both ecus?

If so, how do I go on to  make my key valid for both ecus?

Thank you Smiley

The immo recognizes the key in both cases.
But the immo does not recognize the ECU.

Easiest option - kill the immo in one of the ECU's.
The ECU knows absolutely nothing about your keys.

So, if I read the eeprom from my original ecu and flash it to my spare ecu, the immo will still not let me start the car? I thougt that was the whole meaning of cloning the immo to a different ecu..??

To kill/defeat the immo I would have to desolder the immo chip, right? How is that easier then flashing it?

It will let you start the car. If of course by EEPROM you mean the serial memory.

No. The "immo chip" you are referring to IS the EEPROM.

I knew that the immo and the eeprom is the same thing... just bad  explaining from my part.   Undecided

How do I kill the Immo on the spare ECU? Any easy way to do it?

Figured it out, and flashed the immo over to the spzre ecu. Works perfect  Grin

A big tanks to Julex for showing me in the right direction, and thank you to prj.. I have a seat ibiza in spain where the immo keeps us from starting the car when its too hot outside (faulty ecu??), so next week when I go down there I will kill the immo on it. Smiley
