Open both files in a hex editor. Go to the location of a known map (use the HN damos), and then search in that area for a similar map in the DL hex. Patterns will emerge. It sounds intimidating, but it isn't as bad as you would think.

Thanks, I'll get to work on that soon and I'll update as soon as I get something done!

AmIdYfReAk, because I like you:

This is for 032DL SW 360227 only. There is two (or more) versions of DL out there.

Should all of these be zero'd? Or do some require a different value for unsupported?

How did this work for you?  I'm about to start doing the same here... I do however have a question.  After reading through this thread I see there are multiple versions for th DL.  How can I be sure I'm working on the correct one?

Thanks so much

There is a great and very usefull program shared inside nefmoto, called me7check.

This provides you enough info to verify which exaclty sw you have in hands and was made for reporting if present checksum errors.
It can run on cmd prompt as it is dos executable.
I ll attach it in order to use it your own.

Use it as follows and should get same results on your file:

C:\>ME7Check.exe map_AWW_06A906032DL.bin
==============================================================================
ME7Check v1.11 (c) mki, 06/2004-07/2011
Checking file map_AWW_06A906032DL.bin (size=1048576)
Reading Version Strings...
-> Bootrom Version = 05.12
-> EPK = 40/1/ME7.5/3/4019.20//24b/Dst03o/280800//
-> Contents of ECUID data table:
   - '0261206890'         (SSECUHN)
   - '1037360227'         (SSECUSN)
   - '06A906032DL '       (VAG part number)
   - '0003'               (VAG sw number)
   - 'MICROCHIPS TUNIN'   (engine id)
-> Contents of ECUID data table:
   - 'HW_MAN004'

-> No errors found. File is OK.   *********************
