Are we being blocked? If so, any valid reason?
Or is there merely a problem on the forum it self.

I'm here to learn and hopefully help/teach. Some cases/area's I'm able to assist.

example - http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=1065.330

I was able to access this specific topic until this morning. Now I'm not even able to find it on the main forum page.

Steps taken to access
1. Logged out and back in - no availability
2. manually search for thread - no availability
3. manually enter URL in browse field - the topic or board is off limit's to you.

Only made a few posts. More so reading and learning all the info this forum has to offer. (a few hours a night)

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. If for some reason we are being blocked from specific topics or boards.

Perhaps have a Sticky, with minimum requirements before certain area's of the forum would become available?
Just a thought???

So that looks like a deleted thread...but maybe that's WHAT THEY WANT US TO THINK Shocked

Lmfao, it's a forum of course there are other boards that aren't public. There's most likely to be a admin chat forum that gets about 2 posts/month, maybe an invitations only forum that has general bitching about dumb n00bs that ask dumb questions with a bit of soft porn on the side (or maybe the most disturbing 'readers wives' thread ever) and maybe a repo for all the commercial maps that get posted, not that they need them, because they know how to write a decent map anyway. Srsly, it's the internet.

Hey guys, noones being blocked. A few days ago we hit the maximum capacity of our servers. Something had to give. The team (myself, nyet, NVR) decided that in order to keep the place running, the tuned files section was the obvious choice to cut. If you'll notice, we changed the "rate my tune" to "rate my log", and I went through and manually deleted 7 pages of old checksum requests. The current intention is to work on user created base files. One for each platform, to facilitate learning, and move away from just being a place to get a tune and go.

Noone's done anything wrong, in fact as of late there have been some really great new members. Let's keep moving in the right direction Smiley

OMG IT IS A CONSPIRACY!  Grin

Thats a really great plan, I still havent had the time to start tuning, but it'd be awesome if there was a clear starting map that I could work from. Edit - I kinda meant something else there - I know that the base map, or one of the existing tunes would be a good place to start - but I'm talking about a noob friendly, heres a map, heres the xdf, go take a look at this, here is a map etc. I'll shut up now Smiley

That's sorta where we're heading. All of the tuned files have 3000 changes, most of which are not needed. It's teaching people alright, teaching them bad habits. What I'd like is a file, logs, and a detailed list of the changes, and why they were made. Something coherent that can easily be followed, and then applied to your own file.

Chances are a already tuned file wont work perfectly on another setup anyhow.

I could give you my 245bhp 1.8T k03s 018H file for you to look at, but can almost guarantee if you flashed it onto another car it wouldnt be the same.

I looked at a few map files to begin with, made a list of the common changes in them.  Then went and read up about what maps, how they worked and what the values meant.  Then started at the basics when writing my own file from a stock flash.   Change something, flash and go log the car see what affect the change has had.  Keep going and going until you get to where you are happy with it.   If something is restricting you, or holding something back,  see what other maps are also a factor on the map your altering.   Or grab a log with me7logger, and upload your mapped file to here and someone can have a look at it for you.

Everyone on here is willing to help if you are prepared to read up, understand whats happening and have a genuine go yourself.  We dont bite Cheesy

Thanks for the clarification. I did think it was strange.

Would there be a possibility to have access to some those big threads without any of the attachements perhaps?
Often these threads had not only valuable information, but also "dumbed" down some of the tables and what they did.

Can anyone give some insight to what happened to the Tuned File section? I was PM'ed by 2 members that were looking for it. I have most of the files from that section downloaded but was still interested in the conversations a few of us were having.
