Does anyone have a tuned AEB m5.92 file? Specifically one with a higher than 6800 rev limit, any stage tune.

Been trying to figure out which maps calculate rev limit.

I would not say that maps calculate engine speed limit.
It should just be a constant (or maybe many constants) - just like it is in older (non-DBW) Motronic load based ECUs.

it is several constants.

Most of the time the Revlimiter is after near the MAF gamut.

I kept on reading it was calculated. Thanks for the correction.  Grin

I'll check the maf curve.

Right now the revlimiter (or removal of) is using the nmax limiter with vss error.

Could anyone point me in the speed limiter direction?

Is this the FIMWU (16x1 Faktor Impuls weich / Factor pulse soft) map? In the 3.82 map all the values are 1.0000

I have checked some files and found some correlation, rev limiter control (NMAXDV/NMAXF) is located in the same address in the same family. Here the indicated variables and the others at each side of it.

M383s
06934 (FHAKHMX) <--->0693A (NMAXDV)<--->0693C(TNMAXDV)
069E8 (MEESG) <--->069EC (NMAXF)<--->069EE (WNWA)

M592s
07438 (TKHMX)<--->0743A (NMAXDV)<--->0743C(TNMAXDV)
074C4 (NDASR)<--->07C6(NMAXF)<--->074C8(WNWA)

Vehicle speed is directly a function of VSS with some error correction/adaptation. It should be a direct calculation. I found the following functions that could be involved:

DVFZ: A  5.  0  Diagnose: Plausibilitätsprüfung Fahrzeuggeschwindigkeit   VEHICLE SPEED DIAGNOSIS
CDTVFZ   Codeword tester : vehicle speed
FLCVFZ   Debounce Error: vehicle speed
HLCVFZ   Debouncing Healing: vehicle speed
LDVFZ   Error - > Lamp : vehicle speed
NDV   Error detection Tacho signal / speed threshold minimal
NDVO   Error detection Fz - speed signal , upper speed limit
TDV   Error detection Tacho signal / time for query
TMDV   Motor temperature threshold for release Fz - speed diagnosis
TSFVFZ   Error sum time: vehicle speed
VDMN   Speed threshold ; fault detection speed signal

GGVFZG: A  8. 20  Gebergröße Fahrzeuggeschwindigkeit   VEHICLE SPEED FUNCTION
AIMV.0   Number of speed pulses per km for normalization v signal
AIMV.1   Number of speed pulses per km for normalization v signal
DVFZBEG.0   Delta speed limit change
DVFZBEG.1   Delta speed limit change
VFZMN.0   Detect Drive - standing
VFZMN.1   Detect Drive - standing
VFZSEG   Segment length for speed detection
ZFV.0   Time constant for filtering the velocity signal
ZFV.1   Time constant for filtering the velocity signal

Thanks for the info  Grin

NMAXDV - I've been running it this way for a couple years now. Works ok, but needs the vss wire to ecu to be cut to get a vss error, to work. Want to get vss back to make other vss functions work (like moving idle)

NMAXF - Currently set to 7100rpm. I think this is just for the rpm exceeded code.

TNMAXDV - Haven't played with it, please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think is just the delay time before the NMAXDV limit works after it gets a vss error code.

ZFV.1   Time constant for filtering the velocity signal

AIMV - Been trying to find the map location for this in the M592.

VFZSEG - Not sure what this is for, speed limit per gear? Also couldn't find it in the m592.

There's a 557t 3.82 limited map pack with a map desc of "Drehzahlbegrenzung" that looks like it's the rev limiter. 30x1 map all 6800 (AA).

The 557B 3.82 and 557P 5.92 doesn't have any map that has a 30x1 (even 5x1) with values of 6480 (A2) or 6800 (AA)

Most of the time the Revlimiter is after near the MAF gamut.

Looks like your right  Grin. I'll try it out. Thanks.

Both 5.92 (557P) and 3.82 (557T) has the rev-limiter after the MAF. The 3.82 (557B) seems to be different though.

The 557P and 557T have similar 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00  after the 256x1 map of the MAF then what looks like a 30x1 map. On the 557B it's two 16x1 maps with values of 40.

It also looks like it's the speed limiter as well. It limits RPM to around 6500 at some parts of the map. This should equate to 130mph.  Grin

Most of the time the Revlimiter is after near the MAF gamut.

It is exactly where you said it would be, same area for m5.92 557P and m3.82 557T. Didn't find it at first, because I was using the m3.82 557B file (rev-limit isn't after the MAF gamut for 557B, it's located at 7DF0 after Zündwinkelfrühverstellung (AR) bei dnar>0 und tl>TLARUN)

Rev-limiter now gone (well up to 10200)  Grin

Rev - Limiter Address (D02 557P file) 07AC2 - 30x1 map

Thanks for the help guys.  Grin

I have not checked the 8D0907557T file but the others file I have checked I have find this info:
4B0907557B M382
NMAXF   1x1   $074C6   Fehlererkennung nmax - Überschreitung
NMAXDV   1x1   $0743A   Drehzahlbegrenzung bei Fehlererkennung Geschwindigkeitssignal
TNMAXDV   1x1   $0743C   Verzögerungszeit für Drehzahlbegrenzung bei Ausfall des Geschwindigkeitssignals

4B0907557P M592
NMAXF   1x1   $0705C   Fehlererkennung nmax - Überschreitung

06A906018R/CG/CJ M383
RED1NMX   1x1   $0693E   Reduzierstufe bei Bedingung 1 der NMAX-Begrenzung
RED2NMX   1x1   $0693F   Reduzierstufe bei Bedingung 2 der NMAX-Begrenzung
RED3NMX   1x1   $06940   Reduzierstufe bei Bedingung 3 der NMAX-Begrenzung
RED4NMX   1x1   $06941   Reduzierstufe bei Bedingung 4 der NMAX-Begrenzung
NMAXF   1x1   $069EC   Fehlererkennung nmax - Überschreitung
NMAXDV   1x1   $0693A   Drehzahlbegrenzung bei Fehlererkennung Geschwindigkeitssignal

I have checked several M383 ECUs and only few M592. Sorry about that. But all this map RPM limit values are not near MAF map (MLHFM), at least in file I have checked. But for sure there a big "00" area after it. Remember that although M38x/M592 are similar families, all have some differences in functions, maps locations other little changes.

ricekikr will be nice if you summarize your findings to document it.

Those are for the Rev-limit if there is a Vehicle Speed Sensor Fault. Vss has to be unplugged or faulty to make that work. The 30x1 map, seems to be several rev-limiters.

Hopefully one of them is rev-limit when stationary. (IE. LAUNCH CONTROL  Grin )

Hi ricekikr I have been looking the info you found about RPM Limiter after MAF Linearization map (MLHFM) and comparing it with several M382 M383 & M592 maps that I have, and I only found that info in a 8D0907557T M382 map. I try to apply the same offet (40*Eeprom) to other and the values does not have the same structure. Here I send you a compilation of the data located after MLHFM (MAF Linearization Map) of several maps. What do you think mate?
