Hi all,

I just read the bin from my s60 2.3t5 m56 manual, build year is 2002, but i believe the MY is 2003. Anyway me7info keeps crashing so i cant read the software version of the bin, can anobody read it?

Thanks,

Daniël

You will probably have to find your own maps or use a different software version

Ive been going through and looking at all the maps etc and slowly getting my head around it and comparing with stock vs stage 3 tune I have.

I read that Volvo like to keep Lamfa 1 as much as possible euro3 stuff. Its something I thought was odd as AFR gauge stays around 14 for quite some time at 3/4 to WOT then drops to around 12 after a few seconds when EGTS are quite high.
So I thought Ill look at Lamfa and this is what I saw.  It would be nice to compare to a 00 V70R etc I do have a V70R bin file but its software is different.

From what I under stand is BTS is set to 460.49c it uses LAMFA untill that calulated temp then switches to KFLBTS Lamfa Map? (this is what has been modified between stock and tune.)

LAMFA seems high? is this to preheat the cat quickly and make things a little more efficent and once EGTS reach 460 it runs BTS Map?
Wondering if should do some adjustments eg higher load / rpm bring it down closer and under 1 My EGTS do shoot up pretty quick sit around 560c and shoot up to around 870c+ under boost.
Im more conerned in summer as does get hot here 35+ few days in row and sometimes 40+ Im just making sure my engine has as much protection as possible and make it run a tad cooler with some transitional head room.
Wondering if setting all the Lamfa from 1.2031 to 1.0 would help the engine run cooler esp in start stop traffic and idle? Considering i live in a warmer climent and never see snow Smiley
I did notice after I made a new downpipe my self with the wideband sensor directly next to the ecu sensor car on warm up sits around 15.2 to 15.7 which I thought was odd. Once EGT hits around 460 it drops to 14.7

ALso I noticed in DRX

with the tune from 1000 to 1760 it was set slightly lower than stock tune then makes a dramatic jump from 2000 and climbs up to 5520. With the Tune I always had the issue it bogs down then takes off at around 2200rpm Im wondering if this is why. I thought if starting of same as stock at 1000 then smoothing to 2240

The other thing I need to do is do some tweaking for the wastegate so I can calibrate it to say a 4pound spring or 7 which is far easier to find than 1 1.8/.6 psi spring
I have read the wiki with this just getting my head around it. Esp working out base pressure etc.

My dream would be to have a switchable map eg one 98 and one e85. I saw someone has come up with using second o2 cable as Flexfuel sensor input too.

LAMFA seems high? is this to preheat the cat quickly and make things a little more efficent and once EGTS reach 460 it runs BTS Map?

Volvo never used lambda>1 in LAMFA map. So you got map factor wrong or file is not stock.
There are different algorithms in the ECU for preheating cat and they set richer mixture not leaner.

Lamfa Factor is the same for all Volvo ME7.

There are calibration variants, where Lamfa is indeed set to 1,20.
Lambda is capped to 1,00 by constants in code.

In those calibrations, mostly early without 2006 Update, LAMBTS and other paths determine enrichment under 1,00.

Lowering Lamfa to 1,00 in those calibrations will have no effect.

There were 1,2lambda in LAMFA but on P80 platform ME7 cars.
On P2 i have never seen>1. Actually all stock LAMFA maps are just 1,0
Volvo used ATR/BTS for fueling.
Also its worth checking FBSTMOT in lift cars (additive to BTS).

Great thanks..

Calibration variant is correct

My software apears to be updated in 2006 but it is a p80

This is on both stock bin and tuned bin.

At least I know its normal now, Ill leave it . Maybe once fueling is corrected with new injectors AFRS will be better.
Just received the new injectors today all has been corrected, So will install run some logs and correct FKKVS.

Installed Green injectors, New 3.8 bar FPR and Flashed everything I did.

LFTS are bang on Idle etc SFTs are not to bad but needs improvement. I did play around with Lamfa tables etc and exhaust is much cooler now Idled for half hour sat around 340 usually around 460-520
Engine idles smooth, rpm is responsive. AFRS drop as expected now sit at 14.6 instead of around 15.

I tried running a Log but openmoose stops responding when click start log. Tried V9 V10 and latest.
Tried Vdash and that also crashes when click log.
I am using a dice which flashes, reads etc etc just fine.
Tried win7 and my win11 laptops both same.
Anyone experianced this?

I also found VolvoTools, maked it, but while trying to build using VS it fails on VolvoLogger expecting a folder called Link

After buying a 2020 ETM that is Volvo original part, I had to reprogram it. Because the bootloader controlled the initial CAN settings during ETM powerup and self-test, in my case it was configured for 125kbps bus for a 2.9 S80. Turns out the ETM's memory 29F200BB was configured in x8 mode, which means deleting bootloader block 0x2000 also deleted 0x0-0x3FFF, I was left with no initial PC, stack pointer and VBR table. But not knowing this, I only wrote 0x2000-0x3FFF so the bootloader was in fact there.

With the boot loader bricked and my tenacity, I had to try and BDM into the ETM which to my knowledge only one other person has. Most people did not know what the MCU was for sure but was an MC683XX, I had to search block diagrams of several processors and compare to the exposed die structures, which yielded an MC68376. From there I had to find Pin 1, with careful needle probing I managed to find all BDM pins

From there I had to create a fixture. Using a prototype PCB board with through-holes, a lot of hot glue, and needles glued to pens acting as probes, many, many many iterations of taking it all apart because the needles would move, I created this monstrosity ( I know its ugly but you have to cut me some slack).

From here I managed to get BDM access using T5Luke's BDM reader. It had to be patched to allow me to also write. In this case I opted to use the BDM's CALL command and manually call the bootloader which worked! From there I spammed the CAN bus with FF86 command and managed to upload the SBL again. The SBL was specially patched to allow 2 things to happen:

1) Allow deletion and reprogramming of 0x0 block
2) Never quit/exit on erroneous CAN command or any error.

These were redundancies. A second redundancy was created in the form of a backup PBL at address 0x16000 specially patched to allow it work from there(tested) so that if bootloader is entirely deleted, there is a second copy to BDM into.

With this safeties in place, I have fully managed to revive my ETM.

Ok Finally got something to work thanks to prometey1982 VolvoTools

Managed to compile the volvologger then made a ECU file for the 00 C70 software 10ERHJ I had to set baud to 250000 or wouldnt connect.

Have attached the compiled loger, ecu file and a batch file for anyone that has had issues or starting out like me, took me a while..

For ease of use Its on a USB drive so can start the startlog.bat file in CMD (ran as administrator) ctrl C to end logging. Make sure there is a log directory on the usb.
Alternativly just edit the bat file. I then open the CSV on my laptop that has office installed.

Appears to be all good. Will test out tomorow then fingers crossed the fkkvs fixer can read the csv file.
