I recently purchased this cable:  http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008HO23OC/

And it has FT232RL and LM339 chips, if anyone is interested.

Do Not buy THIS one. It comes with the CH340 chip in it. Not compatible.

Unless it SAYS FTDI, don't buy it. Most sellers just buy the cheapest cables they can get, and it turns into luck of the draw.

Does anyone know of any technical or none-technical (maybe business) reasons why the Eurodyne flash cable would not work?  Roll Eyes
I tested it today and only got as far as getting the following messages in the Status Windows.
  • Failed to read test echo from FTDI device
  • Could not open FTDI device

Please be so kind and note - I have installed the latest FTDI drivers and have no message or indication in the device manager that the FTDI device driver is not functional.

Please let me know.

Title reads
Vag-com USB kkl 409.1 cable
Seller is game adventure
I have connected via nef and taken apart and actually seen the ftdi 232r chip.

Hello,

I use this hex-can clone and after many attempts I think I manage it to work.

http://www.xcar360.com/super-vag-com-12-12-vcds-english-german-french.html

I get usual message failed to read test echo from FTDI device.

So I do next.

First I set dumb mode in VCDS:

Then go to Nefmoto settings (VCDS was still opened in background) and uncheck ''Should verify cable in dumb mode'':

After that interface respond in slowinit and fastinit:

This all was done unplugged to car. So, still I need to try it in the car.

I bought this cable - USB Interface VAG KKL 409.1 OBD2 Cable VAG-COM for VW AUDI Seat Skoda Jetta Bora. It works very well with the com port and VAG-COM, but as soon as I try to set it to USB as suggested the Getting Started guide threat - I get the message - Ross-Tech USB interface not found! interface: not found!  Huh
The device does also not appear in the Flasher Logger device list.
Any ideas and suggestions?

Please let me know.

Guenther

Just in case, if this could be helpful.
The com port identifies itself as USB-SERIAL CH340 port in the ports (com & LPT) section of the Device Manager.

Ok well you can use the ross tech genuine cable. You might need to install it as a vcp which you can do under the ross tech software website. Although in my experience its best to use a clone and to install it as a vcp to a certain port.
